Originally a short piece on loss and memory, early drafts of Afterimage were created before the events of the global pandemic.
The story developed over several years in Leon Martell's Los Angeles writing workshop to become a story about duality, and the struggle to balance identity, self empowerment, love and family loyalty.

An excerpt of Afterimage was presented at Cal State Los Angeles as a multimedia stage play, at a student workshop in 2012.
It was directed by Kymm Swank and featured Lisa Lynch as Evan, Noel Olken as Pirate Davey and Michael Kass as Malador.

Blood Red Lost Head Dead Falcon: The Nibelungen was presented in 2010 at Highways Performance Space as part of the Los Angeles Ring Festival in partnership with the LA Opera.
The multimedia performance piece was written and directed by Aaron Henne, and produced by Lyn Gaza with production design by Michael Manning and Lyn Gaza.

Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings, a techno opera, premiered in July 2008 at The Theatre @ Boston Court in Pasadena. This sold out show was written and created by Eric Whitacre, and directed by Michael Michetti.
Lyn Gaza and Michael Manning designed, produced and animated the anime-style projections, receiving an Ovation Award from Backstage West for Multimedia and Projection Design.
